The San Diego Horticultural Society welcomes Sustainable Landscape Expert Lynlee Austell-Slater. Creating a sustainable landscape can be rather simple while keeping it sustainable requires that we be aware of and apply sustainable maintenance practices. Knowing these techniques can save us time, money and habitat by practicing conscientious stewardship of our environment and of those we employ to help us in our gardens. Lynlee will show us three paths to make our landscape more sustainable, from keeping everything we already have and changing techniques, to full renovation. The evening starts at 6:00 p.m. in the Surfside Race Place at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on Jimmy Durante Blvd. in Del Mar. Parking is free and everyone is welcome. Admission is free for members and $10 for non-members. Before the lecture a plant expert will discuss one exceptional plant (a “Hot Hort Pick”) that is a star in the garden.
