Immerse yourself in a floral paradise at the U.S. Botanic Garden’s annual Orchids in Focus exhibit, running now through April 17, 2016. Held in partnership with Smithsonian Gardens, the exhibit celebrates the world's largest plant family by showcasing USBG's most extensive plant collection. The event will also offer orchid-themed programs and activities for adults and children, including art and photography workshops and lectures on orchid diversity, conservation, and care.

Found on every continent except Antarctica, orchids amaze with their diversity of forms and colors. See for yourself why these exotic beauties have inspired artists and photographers for centuries by attending the U.S. Botanic Garden’s annual Orchids in Focus exhibit. For more information about Orchids in Focus as well as tips on caring for orchids, visit the exhibit’s webpage at www.USBG.gov/OrchidsinFocus. The U.S. Botanic Garden is located in Washington, D.C., on the southwest side of the U.S. Capitol, and is open to the public, free of charge, every day of the year from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The secret to success in growing orchids indoors is choosing plants that are best suited to the growing environment. Most orchids will thrive when you expose them to adequate light, keep them cool at night, and avoid overwatering. Photo by: U.S. Botanic Garden.
