On the most basic level, sheds are convenient places to store tools and materials for the garden, but more often than not they take on the personality of the homeowner — be they ardent pot collector, passionate bulb buyer, or lover of antique statuary.
Given their small footprint and relatively low cost, sheds are the perfect vehicle with which to complement and punctuate existing designs. Owners of a midcentury modern home, for example, might opt for a prefabricated metal-and-glass structure with simple lines, while those in a Victorian could go for something more traditional in wood.
Before choosing a design, remember that sheds can be repurposed as work spaces, music rooms, and much more.
