Brooklyn keeps growing (its gardens).
Four years ago, musician Nate Mendel bought a house in the Los Angeles hills surrounded by a scrappy lawn and a few big trees. Mendel felt certain it could be transformed into a welcoming home base. 
In an update to our story about the gardens of Helen and Brice Marden's Golden Rock Inn in the Caribbean in January/February 2012, we have new photos from landscape designer Raymond Jungles that show the most recent progress of the hotel's lush, tropical gardens.
