Paul Robbins craved a planter that didn’t exist. So the English-born, L.A.-based landscape designer — who regularly collaborates with high-profile interior designers including Kelly Wearstler and celebrity clients such as Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams — enlisted the help of Gen Y furniture designer Matthew Mink and designed his own hip line of planter boxes. Powder coated and hand welded, they’re made of corrosion-free aluminum with a vibe that’s miles from the options at your local garden center. Robbins named his three designs for streets in and around his adopted home. The planters come in 10 colors but can also be custom-colored (and even custom-etched) upon request. robbinsgardens.com — Lisa Cregan
