The 7th annual Jardins, Jardin show in the Tuileries, Paris, took place June 4-6 and, as usual, the French managed to stage perfect weather to go with the perfect setting -- for the preview evening the sun shone and champagne (courtesy of Laurent Perrier) flowed. Many exhibitors seemed to have been influenced by a surreal mood and an Alice-through-the-Looking-Glass effect rippled throughout the show.

English designer Jinny Blom, former Chelsea gold medal winner, was Laurent Perrier’s choice to design their show garden. She seized the opportunity to shake off the classic perfectionism of Chelsea and dived into a more playful French approach via a conceptual garden inspired by the landscape of the Champagne region. Her striking installation featured a giant pod, lined with champagne bottles, lying as if burst open in an aerial landscape, a play on the fertility of the land and the futuristic technology that keeps Laurent-Perrier at the top of the luxury brand game.
