"A hip, serene Moroccan-style garden"
San Francisco Flower & Garden Show 2006

March 15-19, 2006

Often Travel is one of the greatest influences in the decisions made for the style of how to decorate home and garden. In this California lifestyle garden the influences are from the Southern Mediterranean area of Morocco.

The outdoor lounging and dining rooms share a view through the Logia onto the spacious patio. This patio area is designed to enjoy the sun, the restful spa and near by outdoor fireplace during the evening hours. The building materials used are a definite influence of Morocco in the 1930's era of Art Deco. The building has large masculine lines, while the appointments and furnishing are softer and feminine.

This approach helps to create the bridge between the old world Morocco and the new world pleasures of California.

The colors chosen are to mimic the Casa Blanca region of Morocco so heavily influenced by the French during this Art Deco period. These include Black, White and Gold. While the outdoor areas embrace the vivid colors of tangerine and lime green.

The Palm Collectors Garden is inspired by the beauty of the arid area that is Morocco . Blending water wise plantings agreeable to the California climate with many palms and succulent native to Morocco and northern Africa we create an unusual and innovative garden of distinct beauty. The predominate colors for this garden are Blue green, Slivery green, White, Black and Gray.

The Patio plantings are rich and full using potted citrus, flowering trees and herbs to imitate the pleasure gardens of Morocco . Center of the Patio is the ever present water fountain found in almost all pleasure gardens. It is simple, yet elegant to quench the view through the Logia.
