New England Spring Flower Show 2004

In recognition of the 175th anniversary of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, Garden Design and Marc Mazzarelli Associates Associates blended local traditions with natural beauty to interpret the 2004 theme - “Deeply Rooted”. This event has become the third-largest event of its kind in the world. The New England Spring Flower Show is a showcase for 25 gardens, 25 garden vignettes, over 60 seminars and more than 180 garden market vendors..

MARC MAZZARELLI
Marc Mazzarelli was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1963. Marc’s life-long close connection to the New England environment inspires his work and led him toward a career in landscape architecture. His academic background includes earning a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Landscape Architecture and Fine Arts from Rhode Island School of Design.

From 1991 to 1997 Mr. Mazzarelli was as an associate in the internationally renowned firm of Sasaki Associates before establishing his own practice. Marc’s award winning experience encompasses a full range of civic, commercial, institutional and residential property design. His practice is unique because of its ability to execute complex large scale projects while maintaining a small and detail oriented office. This combination allows for a thoughtful and site specific design approach. Working closely with both architects and owners, Marc’s designs express a collaborative approach that balances aesthetics with budget considerations to maximize the potential of the landscape.

Marc was recently a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome and in August of 2003 he delivered a presentation of his work in Tokyo, Japan. In addition, Mr. Mazzarelli will be the keynote speaker at the annual meeting of the Massachusetts Federation of Garden Clubs in May of 2004. Marc is a registered landscape architect in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and an active member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, Boston Chapter as well as the Japan Society of Boston.
