In Chicago, spring signals the end of the big freeze and the beginning of the big breeze - the soft winds of summer scented with fresh blooms. For this year’s show, Garden Design teamed with John Brookes, one of the world’s most influential landscape architects and JPS Landscaping to produce the ultimate garden for outdoor living. The Chicago Flower & Garden Show showcases 25 gardens, over 75 seminars and more than 130 garden market vendors

JOHN BROOKES
John Brookes is one of today’s most original and emulated garden designers, who has been in private practice in 1964 pioneering the concept of the “room outside” in both his practise and his writing. After initiating the Inchbald School of Garden Design and running it for a number of years – he moved to Iran. When this ended and he returned to the UK to set up his own school of garden design at Denmans in West Sussex – then subsequently running a series of garden design courses at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He now combines lecture tours in Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia and Japan and is also currently Principal of a garden design school in Buenos Aires. Denmans - his house and (4 acre) garden in southern England is open to the public daily throughout March to October.
