Need an excuse to be in Paris in early June?
Jardins, Jardin is possibly the most civilized garden show on Earth. In a section of the Tuileries, this boutique three-day event offers show gardens, outdoor furniture, plants and a design village full of conceptual hijinks. Styles range from rustic to sophisticated; the setting is chic, the food exquisite and the atmosphere dizzying with Parisians trying to take it all home. Last year’s Grand Prize went to Cao-Perrot Studio (see our profile on them) for their shimmering installation for champagne house Laurent-Perrier. With sparkling bubbles in mind, they created a steel tree hung with 20,000 mother-of-pearl “leaves” surrounded by frothy grasses — airy, conceptual and, in its playfulness, so French. This year, English designer and Chelsea gold medalist Jinny Blom will be the designer to watch. June 4 to 6; the Tuileries, Paris. jardinsjardin.com
